The Official Premiere of “Stabat Mater Dolorosa” Music Video

Produced by the Macao Catholic Culture Association (ACCM), composed by Dr. Viola Yuen, Resident Composer of the St. Pius X Music Academy in Macao and Council Member of the Hong Kong Composers' Guild, and filmed by Mr. Hong Heng Fai, Macao’s first Golden Horse Award nominated director, the Stabat Mater Dolorosa music video will be premiered during Holy Week, on March 27, 2024 via ACCM’s official website and social media platforms.  This project is sponsored by the Cultural Development Fund of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government.

Opening Ceremony of "The Eucharistic Miracles of the World" International Exhibition at Fu Jen Catholic University

The opening ceremony of "The Eucharistic Miracles of the World" International Exhibition was held on March 12, at 12 noon, in the lobby of the Paul Cardinal Shan Medical Building, Fu Jen Catholic University (FJCU). It was officiated by Prof. Francis Yi-Chen Lan, President of FJCU, Prof. Chen-Nan Lai, the Vice-President for Administrative Affair of FJCU, Fr. Wen-Lin Wang, Representative of Chinese Diocesan Clergy Mission Office of FJCU, Associate Prof. John Selvamani, Dean of Fu Jen Academic Catholica of FJCU, Prof. Cheng-Hau Peng, Dean of College of Social Science of FJCU, Prof. Tak-Kwong Chan, Founding Head of FJCU Bachelor’s Program in Catholic Studies, Rev. Francis King, Head of FJCU Bachelor’s Program in Catholic Studies, Ms. Joni Cheng, Director of the Macao Catholic Culture Association (ACCM), and  other prestigious guests. The exhibition is co-organized by ACCM and FJCU Bachelor’s Program in Catholic Studies.

"The Eucharistic Miracles of the World" International Exhibition to be Held at Fu Jen Catholic University

The Macao Catholic Culture Association (ACCM) will be co-hosting "The Eucharistic Miracles of the World" International Exhibition with the Fu Jen Catholic University (FJCU) Bachelor’s Program in Catholic Studies. The exhibition will be held from March 12 to 18, 2024, at the Paul Cardinal Shan Medical Building, FJCU, from 10:00 to 17:00 daily. There will be scheduled guided tours conducted by the students from the program and a series of public lectures on the topic will also be given by the program professors during the exhibition period.

Awarding ceremony of  2023 Admirabile Signum Nativity Competition successfully held

The awarding ceremony of 2023 Admirabile Signum Nativity Competition was successfully held on January 6, 2024 at 11 AM, at Rua Formosa No. 5, Macau. The Admirabile Signum Nativity Competition has been highly participated in by local schools over the years.  The Macao Catholic Culture Association (ACCM) continues to organise this competition to promote this wonderful Christmas tradition.   Distinguished guests presented at the award ceremony included the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Macau and Chairman of ACCM, Bishop Stephen Lee Bun Sang; internationally renowned legendary figure in the advertising industry, Mr. Tomaz Mok; and Director of the Board of ACCM, Mr. Francisco Xavier Choi.

Opening Ceremony of the "Art for God" Artworks and Spiritual Reflections Exhibition (Macao School Tour) by Fr. Joseph Tham, L.C. held at Escola São Paulo

The opening ceremony of the "Art for God" Artworks and Spiritual Reflections Exhibition (Macao School Tour) by Fr. Joseph Tham, L.C was held on January 3, at Escola São Paulo. It was officiated by Fr. Joseph Tham, L.C., Fr. Thomas Montanaro L.C., Fr. Javier Gonzalez Izquiedo, O.P., Ms. Joni Cheng, the Office Director of the Macao Catholic Culture Association (ACCM), Fr. Athanasius Chan, O.P., the Principal of Escola São Paulo, and other teachers and students. The exhibition is organized by ACCM and co-organized by the Regina Apostolorum Foundation, Hong Kong, Limited.  The opening ceremony began with a speech by the Principal, Fr. Athanasius, followed by Fr. Joseph, who offered a guided tour of the exhibition to the guests.

The Hong Kong Hymnos Festival 2023 Closing Concert “Tribute to Maestro Doming Lam” Successfully Performed

The Hong Kong Hymnos Festival 2023 Closing Concert "Tribute to Maestro Doming Lam" was held at the Cathedral of the Nativity of Our Lady from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on December 2, 2023. It was co-organized by the Hong Kong Hymnos Festival Society and the Macao Catholic Culture Association (ACCM) and held in Macao for the first time. Guests who attended the event included Bishop Stephen Lee Bun Sang, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Macau and Chairman of ACCM; Ms. Chan Lei Lei, the Acting Director at the Macao Conservatory of Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government; Ms. Fong Ieok Mui, the Coordinator of School Inspection of the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macau SAR Government and other prestigious guests.

Placing his artworks within the context of traditional Chinese philosophy and Christian spirituality, the “Art for God” Artworks and Spiritual Reflections Exhibition (Macao) by Fr. Joseph Tham, L.C. features the traditional Chinese theme of harmony between heaven, earth and humanity in Chinese calligraphy, brush painting and seal carving, revealing the glory and mysteries of God through arts.

The Macao Catholic Culture Association (ACCM) launched a brand new video series “Cidade do Nome de Deus” - Macao‘s Catholic World Heritage on 7th July, 2023 and held its official premiere at No. 5 Rua Formosa, Macau. This new series is sponsored by the Cultural Development Fund of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government.

“The Eucharistic Miracles of the World” New Book Release

"The Eucharistic Miracles of the World" International Exhibition presented by the Macao Catholic Culture Association (ACCM) in 2022 was a great success.  In order to continue the promotion of this exhibition curated by the Blessed Carlo Acutis, ACCM is honoured to receive the permission from Antonia Salzano, the mother of Blessed Carlo Acutis, to publish the materials from the website built by Blessed Carlo Acutis (http://www.miracolieucaristici.org) into Chinese.  The new book will be released on June 11, 2023, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ.

“A Mystical Rose” Sacred Music Recital by the Macao Catholic Culture Association Successfully Performed

This May, the Macao Catholic Culture Association (ACCM) had organized a series of “Ave Maria” Catholic cultural activities, and the grand finale of the series, “A Mystical Rose” Sacred Music Recital was held from 3pm to 4pm on May 28, 2023 at the St Joseph’s Seminary Church (Entrance at Rua do Seminário).  The guests who attended the event included Ms. Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, the Director of the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), Bishop Stephen Lee Bun Sang, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Macao and Chairman of ACCM, and other prestige guests.

Ave Maria Activities Series

For centuries, the Catholic Church has set aside the entire month of May to honour Mary, Mother of God.  This May, the Macao Catholic Culture Association will organize a series of “Ave Maria” Catholic cultural activities, including an art exhibition, handicraft workshops, and a sacred vocal recital, providing the cultural lovers in Macao a unique opportunity to learn more about the Catholic “Month of Mary” this May through art and beauty.

“Our Lady of Guadalupe: The Mysteries and Meanings Behind Her Apparition” successfully held

Close to 60 audiences turned up at the “Our Lady of Guadalupe: The Mysteries and Meanings Behind Her Apparition” that took place on Sunday, March 5, 2022, at the Old Court House, as part of the activities of “The Journey over a Thousand Miles”, an exhibition of religious culture and heritage jointly presented by six religious communities in Macao.

To continue the promotion of the “Eucharistic Miracles of the World” International Exhibition in Macao, ACCM continues its school exhibition tour in 2023. The exhibition will be on display at Escola São Paulo from January 10 to February 17.

The award ceremony of 2022 Admirabile Signum Nativity Competition organized by the Macao Catholic Culture Association (ACCM) was successfully held on 7 January, 2023 at 11 AM, at ACCM’s office at Rua Formosa No. 2B R/C Macau.  Distinguished guests presented at the award ceremony included the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Macau and Chairman of ACCM, Bishop Stephen Lee Bun Sang; local environmentalist and multimedia designer, Ms. Benvinda dos Santos; and the Director of the Board of ACCM, Mr. Francisco Xavier Choi.

Illustratio: Macao’s Catholic Intangible Cultural Heritage & Liturgical Feast Illustration Exhibition” and New Book Release

To further promote and enhance the public’s awareness and understanding of Macao's Catholic intangible cultural heritage and Liturgical Feast, the Macao Catholic Cultural Association is pleased to present, sponsored by the Macao Foundation, the “Illustratio: Macao’s Catholic Intangible Cultural Heritage & Liturgical Feast Illustration Exhibition” and New Book Release. Through the illustration drawn by our in-house illustrator, it hopes to present to the public the historical and cultural significance of fifteen key Catholic intangible cultural heritage & liturgical feasts of the Catholic Diocese of Macau.

"Living in Faith" Video Series 100,000 Views Celebration

Since its broadcast, the “Living in Faith” video series by the Macao Catholic Culture Association (ACCM) has surpassed 100,000 views.  To celebrate this milestone together with the release of the limited edition of “Living in Faith” video USB, a Thanksgiving Mass was held in Sé Cathedral on October 14, 2022.

“The Eucharistic Miracles of the World” International Exhibition presented by the Macao Catholic Culture Association has come to a successful close on 30th September, 2022.  The exhibition was very well received, with over 2000 visitors and 40 groups of guided tours were conducted.

The Eucharistic Miracles of the World International Exhibition

“The Eucharistic Miracles of the World” International Exhibition, the Church-approved photographic Vatican International Exhibition, curated by Blessed Carlo Acutis, presents the realities which human science cannot prove and are beyond the reach of scientific research.  The exhibition will be reopened to public from August 9, 2022 to September 30, 2022. 

Five Religions’ Music Appreciation Concert

Establishing friendly cultural exchanges with other religious groups from the perspective of culture and art has always been one of the aims of the Macao Catholic Culture Association. On December 5, 2021, the Macao Catholic Culture Association, together with other religions - Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity and Bahá’íism - jointly presented Macau’s first "Five Religions’ Music Appreciation Concert”.

“Discovering Everyday Beauty” Photography Workshop

The “Discovering Everyday Beauty” Photography Workshop was successfully held on 24th July, 2021.  The participants were guided by Mr. António Leong @ Antonius Photoscript, National Geographic Photo Contest Winner, to visit different Catholic Churches in Macao, exchanging photography experience, discovering the beauty in our daily life through the uniqueness of Macao’s culture harmonized with Catholicism.

“Discovering Everyday Beauty” Photo Exhibition, by António Leong

To celebrate the official opening of the Macao Catholic Culture Association’s brand-new office, the association has specially invited Macao photographer António Leong, National Geographic Photo Contest Winner, to jointly present the “Discovering Everyday Beauty” Photo Exhibition.  The photo exhibition starts from July 2 to September 30, 2021 and will showcase a new set of photos each month for three months, including The Chapel of Our Lady of Penha, the St. Joseph's Seminary and Church and the St. Lawrence’s Church.

The Macao Catholic Culture Association launched a brand-new “Living in Faith” short video series on 4th December 2020, Friday and held its official premiere.

Mystery of Gate: Byzantine Icon Painting 2018

In celebrating Advent & Christmas, the Macao Catholic Culture Association & Macau San Luca Promotion Co. Ltd. jointly organise the Art Exhibition "Mystery of Gate: Byzantine Icon Painting" by Theresa Tung Lan Chih & Isidro Aragón Diez. 

 

Over 40 pieces of icon paintings under 8 themes namely "The Mystery of Nativity", "The Mystery of Luminous", "The Paschal Mystery", "The Mystery of Holy Trinity", "The Holy of the Blessed Virgin Mary", "The Holy Family", "The Archangels" & "All Saints in Heaven" will be exhibited at Sé Cathedral from 10th December, 2018 to 6th January, 2019.
