Opening Ceremony of "The Eucharistic Miracles of the World" International Exhibition at Fu Jen Catholic University

The opening ceremony of "The Eucharistic Miracles of the World" International Exhibition was held on March 12, at 12 noon, in the lobby of the Paul Cardinal Shan Medical Building, Fu Jen Catholic University (FJCU). It was officiated by Prof. Francis Yi-Chen Lan, President of FJCU, Prof. Chen-Nan Lai, the Vice-President for Administrative Affair of FJCU, Fr. Wen-Lin Wang, Representative of Chinese Diocesan Clergy Mission Office of FJCU, Associate Prof. John Selvamani, Dean of Fu Jen Academic Catholica of FJCU, Prof. Cheng-Hau Peng, Dean of College of Social Science of FJCU, Prof. Tak-Kwong Chan, Founding Head of FJCU Bachelor’s Program in Catholic Studies, Rev. Francis King, Head of FJCU Bachelor’s Program in Catholic Studies, Ms. Joni Cheng, Director of the Macao Catholic Culture Association (ACCM), and  other prestigious guests. The exhibition is co-organized by ACCM and FJCU Bachelor’s Program in Catholic Studies.

In his speech, Prof. Lan said that even though Blessed Carlo Acutis had been alive for only fifteen years, he, through his talent in computer, created a website dedicated to documenting the Eucharistic miracles around the world, and for this reason, he is considered a patron of internet users and computer programmers.  In addition to devotion to the Eucharist as the core of his spiritual life, Lan also praised the efforts of Blessed Carlo Acutis in utilizing modern technology to spread the Good News.  "The Eucharistic Miracles of the World" International Exhibition will enable FJCU students and Catholics to have a better understanding of the Eucharist.

Prof. Peng pointed out that FJCU Bachelor’s Program in Catholic Studies and ACCM have co-organized a very meaningful activity to let us know that Christian faith and science are not conflicting but complementary.  They allow us to understand these Eucharistic miracles at a beautiful time and space, enabling us to be the witnesses.

Rev. Francis King, for his part, remarked that "The Eucharistic Miracles of the World" International Exhibition is the first and the beginning of the collaboration between FJCU Bachelor’s Program in Catholic Studies and ACCM. The exhibition lets everyone know that Jesus is not just a historical figure, but He is also a living God, and a God who is with us every moment of the day.

Ms. Joni Cheng pointed out that the purpose of organizing this exhibition is to show the public that the Eucharist is one of the greatest wonders of our Christian faith, the mystery of faith.  It is hoped, she said, that through the exhibition, visitors will also be able to discover the love of Christ.

The "Exhibition of Eucharistic Miracles" was curated by Blessed Carlo Acutis and presents a collection of scientifically recognized Eucharistic miracles that have occurred in various countries and regions over the centuries. It aims to explore the profound significance behind these miracles, which surpasses the limitations of scientific inquiry, from the perspective of Catholic culture and science. The exhibition has been translated into 17 languages and has been showcased in different cities across five continents, receiving the recognition of the Holy See.
