Every second Sunday of July, Saint Lazarus' Church of the Catholic Diocese of Macau holds the ‘Procession of Saint Roque’ in honour of its patron saint against epidemics. The procession has been celebrated in Macao for over a century. The ‘Procession of Saint Roque’ is included in the ‘Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Macao’ by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government on June 30, 2020, which fully demonstrates its importance on Macao's local religious culture.
