ACCM Launches “The Eucharistic Miracles of the World”
VR360 Virtual Online Exhibition
To further promote the utilisation of the digitalised resources, the Macao Catholic Culture Association has launched “The Eucharistic Miracles of the World” VR360 virtual online exhibition. The public can visit the exhibition in 360 degrees virtually by scanning the dedicated QR Code or visit ACCM's official website.
This is the first time the Macao Catholic Culture Association incorporates VR360 technology to elevate a physical exhibition into a an online virtual reality (VR) exhibition accessible to anyone around the world. The VR360 virtual exhibition is available in both Chinese and English. The public can view the exhibits in high-definition images by simply clicking on the icon of each exhibit. The public can enjoy the 360-degree interactive experience online anytime, anywhere, and without the restraints dictated by the pandemic. The Macao Catholic Culture Association has also produced a professional guided tour video in Cantonese to allow the visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the significance of the Eucharistic miracles.
The Eucharistic miracles have been one of the most studied topics by scholars and scientists from all over the world. The Catholic Church firmly believes that there is no opposition between science and faith. “The Eucharistic Miracles of the World” International Exhibition, organised by the Macao Catholic Culture Association presents 17 of the Eucharistic miracles in the world. It explores the relations and influences between the Catholic cultures and contemporary science, presenting the realities which human science cannot prove and are beyond the reach of scientific research. This Church-approved photographic Vatican International Exhibition, curated by Blessed Carlo Acutis, has been translated into 17 languages and presented around the world, featuring the Eucharistic miracles that have taken place over the centuries in different countries and which the Church recognises.
In line with contemporary new media communication technology and innovative digital resources, the Macao Catholic Culture Association will continue to integrate the historical characteristics of Macao’s Catholic culture into modern new media culture, thus promoting the popularisation and sharing of Catholic cultural resources through digitalised resources and technology.
